Graphic Design / Marketing / Photography / Social Media
My true passion lies in graphic design. I love to exercise my creativity on a canvas that can relay emotion and evoke action in the viewer. This has led me to learn and grow in the fields of marketing, photography, and social media. No design is successful without a purpose, so I have learned to dive into the strategic marketing aspect as well. By defining key measurables and evaluating past marketing efforts, many insights are discovered that can have an effect on the way I design a piece. I also love generating new ideas for promotions and campaigns.
Another skill that has proven to be helpful in my field is photography. By capturing a unique moment in time through different shots and angles, I am often able to tell a story without any words. Whether they know it or not, people’s minds are trained to react to images, which makes photography a very powerful tool.
Lastly, I have seen from experience how effective social media can be for businesses. Living in a world of technological communication, there are endless opportunities to be taken advantage of for a very affordable price. Nothing sells like word of mouth, so being socially endorsed by “friends of friends” is quite a statement. This is also a way to keep your brand at top of mind for these customers with whom you develop relationships.
Because I LOVE it!
I want companies to fall in love with themselves and their campaigns as much as I do! One of my favorite things about being a designer is being able to add personality to my work. It might be fun and silly, sleek and professional, or outspoken and in-your-face. But I do know that boring isn’t likely to attract anyone. Design is all about providing value and purpose, but who said I can’t have some fun doing it?
I also love learning new things. Why limit myself when the world is wide open? I graduated from BGSU and specialized in Visual Communication Technology while I was there. Not to say it’s a bad program; I have no regrets going through it. However, I have learned that school doesn’t really teach you what you need to know! You might learn some technical concepts, but it is all about having a desire to learn and teaching yourself. It is about going above and beyond the classroom and taking on your own projects so you can get closer and closer to becoming the expert. I am so grateful for all of the experiences that have allowed me to learn and grow as a person and as a designer.

I’ve shared what I spend most of my time doing, but who am I really? Well, it all started in Plain City, Ohio where I grew up and the place I will always call my home. I am a lucky girl–I have the best family I could ever ask for and have been fortunate enough to follow my dreams of doing what I love. I graduated from BGSU in August of 2013 and it has opened so many doors of opportunity for me. In my free time, I love shopping, hanging out with people, eating, being outside, going to concerts, country music, chick flicks and the color pink.
